Expert Tire Care You Can Trust
Your tires play a critical role in your vehicle’s safety and performance. At Briggs Firestone, we take tire care seriously—offering thorough inspections and expert service to help you avoid problems before they start.
Tire condition isn’t based on mileage alone. Heat, road conditions, and driving habits all affect how quickly tires wear down. Our team evaluates your tires during every visit, checking tread depth, condition, and overall safety so you can drive with confidence.
Tire Safety & Tread Depth
Knowing when to replace your tires is essential for safe driving. A quick way to check your tread is the quarter test—insert a quarter upside down into the tread. If the tread does not reach Washington’s head, it’s time to replace your tires.
General tread guidelines:
- 5/32" or greater: Tires are in good condition
- 4/32": Performance in wet conditions may begin to decline
- 3/32": Plan for replacement soon
- 2/32" or less: Tires should be replaced immediately for safety

Routine Tire Maintenance Tips
Regular maintenance helps extend tire life and improve performance.
- Inflation: Check tire pressure monthly and before long trips. Improper inflation can lead to premature wear and reduced fuel efficiency.
- Rotation: Rotate tires every 3,000–5,000 miles to maintain even wear and traction.
- Visual Inspections: Check for cracks, bulges, punctures, and uneven wear. Don’t forget to inspect the edges of your tires for alignment-related damage.
Taking a few minutes to check your tires regularly can help prevent larger issues and keep you safer on the road.
Drive With Confidence
At Briggs Firestone, our goal is to make sure your tires are ready for whatever the road brings. Whether you need maintenance, repairs, or a full evaluation, you can trust our team to keep you moving safely.
